Monster Madness Ch. 5

Chapter 5- Monster Changes!

    Mario felt strange as he started to regain consciousness. For some strange reason, he felt like he was dead inside, and hungry.

    And he wasn’t the only one who felt strange as they regained consciousness. Sonic felt numb inside his body, like he got zapped by lightning as he was passed out, since he felt like he had no energy to stand up.

    As for Katelyn, she felt empty inside. That was all, but just like Mario and Sonic, she felt like she had no energy to get back up.

    Finally, after who knew how long, Mario, Sonic, and Katelyn started to stand back up all at once. But when they all looked at each other, they were all frightened with what each of them saw.

    “AH! DON’T HURT ME!” cried Mario, as he ran behind a pole.

    “WAH! DON’T KILL ME!” cried Sonic, as he ran behind a tree.

    “DON’T EAT ME! I TASTE TERRIBLE!” cried Katelyn, as she hide behind a large bush.

    There was a long, awkward moment of silence as the three heroes waited for a response from one another. None of them dared to peek out from their hiding spots, until Katelyn was brave enough to peek out.

    “G-g-guys?” Katelyn said in a scared voice.

    Mario peeked out from his hiding spot, and a few seconds later, Sonic did the same thing.

    “Katelyn?” Mario asked.

    “Is it… you guys?” Sonic nervously asked. When he spoke, his voice sounded gruffy and wild for a strange reason.

    That surprised Mario and Katelyn.

    “Sonic, are you going through puberty?” asked Mario.

    Katelyn started to giggle, but she did her best not to laugh out loud, especially since Sonic came out of his hiding spot.

    “Wha? Why would you ask a question like that?!” Sonic snapped at Mario.

    When Sonic came out from his hiding spot, Katelyn gasped when she saw how he changed. She recognized his form from the time he had to fix the planet when it split into seven along with Chip/ Light Gia. Sonic was in his werehog form!

    “Sonic, what happened to you?!” cried Mario, as he came out of his hiding spot.

    “What?!” cried Sonic.

    He looked at his hands and saw that he had claws. It took him only a couple seconds to realize what he turned into.

    “Oh come on! Not this again!” he shouted.

    Sonic looked up at Mario, but he yelped in panic.

    “Mario, what happened to you?!” he screamed.

    “What?!” cried Mario.

    He pulled out his cell phone and turned on the camera feature so that he could see his face on the screen. Mario was shocked when he saw that his eyes were yellow with green pupils, his skin looked pale and even had some stitches on some spots, and he got chipped on his left ear a little bit. He also noticed that his hat was torn up a bit, showing his brown hair, and one of the sleeves of Mario’s shirt and the right leg of his overalls had a big rip in them, exposing his pale left arm and right leg, which also had a few stitches.

    “Mama mia! I’m a zombie!” he cried.

    “Wait, if I’m a werehog and you’re a zombie, then Kate is…” Sonic started to say.

    After watching and listening to the commotion her friends caused, Katelyn slowly came out. Mario and Sonic gasped when they saw what happened to Katelyn.

    She was the color white almost everywhere on her body, except her hair, shoes, and some of the strips on her shirt were light grey. Katelyn’s hair was longer, and they could see through her. Katelyn was a ghost, and the only thing that remained the same in her appearance was her eyes, which were still brown.

    “I died and now I’m a ghost?!” Katelyn cried.

    “I don’t think you died. I think that creep in the cloak did this to us!” said Mario.

    “No chance he’ll tell us how to turn ourselves back, so maybe Tails can get us back to normal,” said Sonic.

    “We better get back home!” said Katelyn.

    “But won’t we scare our friends?” asked Mario.

    “Their loss…” Katelyn said with a sigh.

    She flew off ahead of the guys, while Mario did his best to run and Sonic had to run on all fours to keep up with them.
