Keep It Under Control Ch. 10

Chapter 10: Escape and Encounter

    “Don’t worry, as long as we stay invisible, then we can rescue the agents,” Gary whispered to Aunt Arctic.

    Still invisible to Herbert, he slowly waddled over to where Amelia was locked up while the polar bear was still operating his equipment. As he made his way over there, Gary noticed that the equipment that was floating above everyone’s heads.

    ‘Amelia must have taken the gloves off for a moment and accidently let those things slip…’ he thought.

    Gary tiptoed by Herbert and since the polar bear was too busy typing away on his keyboard, he did his best to punch Herbert on the arm.

    “Ow!” the polar bear shouted in pain.

    Gary quickly stepped back, just in time before Herbert swung his arm and came really close to hitting Gary across the face by accident.

    “Klutzy, how many time do I have to tell you not to pinch me while I work?!” Herbert shouted.

    Gary heard Klutzy click his claws to respond to Herbert, while he glanced by the cage. Aunt Arctic, who was also invisible, was almost there. She was holding something to pick the lock, so she needed the right moment to help get the captured agents free.

    “Wait, if you’re over there, then what hit me?” Herbert said. The angry look on his face faded away.

    Before anyone could say something, Gary did his best to stomp on Herbert’s foot.

    “Argh!” the polar bear shouted as he jumped up and held his foot in pain.

    Like before, he almost smacked Gary across the face by accident, but luckily Gary stepped back in time.

    Gary glanced at Aunt Arctic, who was now ready to pick the lock. Berry, and Jet Pack Guy were confused on what was going on, while Amelia had a fearful look on her face, which meant she thought that Herbert’s strange actions were because she couldn’t control her powers again.

    ‘Poor Agent Amelia… She thinks this is her fault, but I hope she understands…’ thought Gary.

    “Alright, what the heck is going on here?!” cried Herbert. A look of anger was on his face.

    Gary figured that this time, he couldn’t punch Herbert, so sneaking up from behind, he gave the polar bear a good kick in the butt, which made Herbert jump up in pain. Herbert landed on the floor with a thud, and as he tried to stand back up, something fell from the ceiling and crashed on the floor right by him. He yelped, and hid behind his equipment.

    Although he didn’t intend for it to happen, Gary was relieved that the floating gear above everyone was now starting to fall down. It was scaring Herbert so easily, the polar bear grabbed Klutzy and ran out of the room. The EPF agents watched as the duo ran for a room, slam the door behind them, and lock the door behind them.

    “Well, that was easy,” said Gary, as he took off his helmet and made himself visible again.

    Aunt Arctic did the same thing. She picked the cage lock as Gary hacked into the computer to release Amelia.

    “Thanks Gary! Thanks Director!” said Berry.

    “Agent Amelia, are you alright?” Gary asked Amelia.

    “I’m… I’m okay. You did those things to scare him didn’t you?” she asked Gary.

    “Well, all except that last part, but I’ll take full credit,” Gary said with a chuckle.

    The other agents laughed as they headed out.

    Meanwhile, PH was running through the forest in panic. She saw what was on the monitor screen and had to warn Gary and Aunt Arctic that the two of them, and possibly the other agents, were unaware that someone was waiting them out.

    “I hope I’m not too late!” she said as she ran through.

    “He-help!” cried a voice.

    PH stopped running and listened carefully. Did someone call for help?

    “Help us!” cried a second voice.

    PH ran in the direction where she heard it from and to her horror, she found Dot and Rookie!  They were tied up to a tree!

    PH ran over to untie them.

    “Dot! Rookie! What happened?!” she asked them as she untied them.

    “Some penguin dressed in black snuck up from behind us and tied us up! I think he used my spy phone to call one of the agents!” said Dot.

    “Oh no…” PH breathed. “He might be the one that Garinwald talked about!”

    “We gotta find Amelia!” said Rookie.

    The other agents were waddling out of Herbert’s cave quickly. It wouldn’t be long before Herbert would come back and see that his hostages escaped, so they had to get back to Dot and Rookie and teleport back to headquarters.

    “Did you manage to shut down the drill?” Aunt Arctic asked Jet Pack Guy.

    “Affirmative, Director. We broke in and disarmed the drill from its control panel right before Herbert captured us. We finished our job on time,” he replied.

    “Good. Let’s find agents D and Rookie so we can report back to headquarters,” said Aunt Arctic.

    The group made it out of the cave, but before they could call out for Dot and Rookie, the sound of a bang went off.

    “Ow!” Gary cried in pain.

    He jumped up and held his foot in pain. It was bleeding.

    “Gary!” cried Aunt Arctic.

    She tried to help him stand up, but the sound of another bang went off. Like Gary, Aunt Arctic held her foot in pain, since it was bleeding to.

    Two more bangs went off and the next thing they knew, Berry and Jet Pack Guy were doing the same thing as Gary and Aunt Arctic.

    “Guys?!” cried Amelia.

    “Take cover agent!” said Aunt Arctic.

    Amelia took cover behind a bush, but surprisingly, no more sounds went off. However, a voice did speak to her from behind.

    “Freeze right there!” it shouted.

    Amelia turned around to see a tall, brown penguin with a look of rage on his face, standing right behind her. He was pointing a gun at her head.

    “I’ve been looking for you, Amelia…” he said in a dark tone.
